Logotype meaning

Whenever a customer talks about logotype with a designer, if the logo represents the company values and business field, a designer may tell the customer to think about Mercedes, McDonald's, or a Christian cross.

Tell me, where is a vehicle in the Mercedes logo? Driver's comfort? Cars, trucks, buses? Legendary loyalty of the world's dictators?

Can you find a hamburger in the Mac's "M" sign? Fries? Seasonal Monopoly contest? Drive-thru?

How does cross represent Christmas? Is there a Santa's face? Heaven or hell? Bible? The pope?

Every customer wants everything to be in his logotype, so we must explain that everything is excellent as it is, just metaphorically. The presence of anything in a logo is a matter of faith, not graphics.
